A lot of things have happened at work over Christmas too.  I received the invitation for the corporate Christmas party and it was the first Christmas party i had with my current job. It was nice to get to know people i had not yet really worked with. Because its such a big company there is people you see in the office but you never really have time to properly talk to them other than politely say good morning while you pass them in between the buildings.

I also got invited to a retirement farewell party. The guy who was retiring had been working with the company for 15 years and had so many nice things to say about everybody.
He gave me some good advise that i will take to heart and try to work on. Its not every day you get a push in the right direction.
That night i had decided i was not driving and i think i had one of my very few and far between proper party nights.
When the retirement farewell party was over i took the ferry to the City center with one of my workmates who were going home, and i joined up in the city with my husband to go out to the casino.
At the casino we met up with some friends and family.

Shortly after the Christmas party i was offered a promotion at work that i accepted. So i have  now moved in to a new role. It is all going well and i am hoping that i am going to live up to peoples expectations, their expectations of my capabilities is quite heartwarming.
I do not want to disappoint them.
