The garden is now pretty much finished. I still need to figure out what i want to do with the flowerbeds but the kitchen garden is all planted and growing like crazy. I have also bought two plant pots where i have planted Sage, Basil, Mint and Rosemary. It is always handy to have fresh herbs in the kitchen garden.
The lemon trees are doing well, one of them have started on some nice looking lemons seen on the pictures below. you can almost see them growing. Right now they are about the size of marbles.
I do not know how many i am going to get in the end as the weather have been quite rough for them. Some got knocked off by the rains and some fell off because of the frost we have had.
But with any luck i would still get a fruit drawer full with lemons. Last time i counted i had 45 little lemons. And right now it is some more flowers on the way.
The lime tree have also started to flower but because of the cold i have not seen a lot of bees so i hope its going to go well anyway and create some nice limes for us.
I know nothing about growing citrus so this is all a very steep learning curve for me. I do not know how long it takes from flower to ripe fruit. And anything i have encountered so far i have had a look at and then ran inside and searched what i need to do over the Internet. Lucky for me it seems like the rest of the world loves gardening so i have not had too much trouble finding some answers for some problems that i have encountered. And so far it looks like that the suggested solutions have seemed like they work.
So far my plants are still alive so i must be doing something right.
The only non-edible plants in my garden at the moment is two rose bushes called blue moon. They will supposedly grow in to nice mauve (pinkish blue color) roses. Even though you can eat rose petals, i do not know if the leaves is such a good idea to try to eat. so as of now they are not edible.
Growing in to the stage they get flowers will take some time as i only bought them as twigs. At the moment they are sprouting leaves and i hope to have some roses in a few months time.
Also talking about the garden being finished. It so happened that i found a little guy that needed a home. So let me introduce you to our new family-member seen on the picture below.

It all went quite quickly. I had seen him and completely fallen in love, and kept my eye on him for a week through out our final stages of the garden build hoping he would not be gone by the time we were finished and ready for him. Then the day came when the garden was all finished and we drove all the way to the shelter to pick him up. He is a 6 1/2 year old Dachshund/Beagle cross. An older gentleman with grey whiskers and a wonderful need for hugs and cuddles. Even though he is an older dog he is a bit of special needs dog.
For one, he have not been house trained at all so we are currently trying to train him to understand that he needs to go to the door when he needs to go out. Secondly he has slight little man's syndrome so any dogs bigger than him hes a bit unsure of and most usually tends to bark at and try to get to them. Lastly he also resource guards things he feels belongs to him and that is something we are trying to train away.
Training is going slow and steady but he has hes moments where he either locks up in hes brain and just freezes on the spot so you have to lead him out of it, or he suddenly reverts back and pees indoors and you have to gently remind him he is supposed to go to the door.
He is always going to have a chance to revert because he is an older dog that have not had the best start in life.
The cat is doing well and is soaking up the fact she owns the house. They work very well together even though the peace-flags are mostly in the dogs corner.
Winter has hit now but is still milder than usual due to the El Nino that is currently active. We will see how long it last for as some might last months and other times it can last for years for the weather to return back to normal. We are hoping for the weather to be fantastic in October when some of my family is due to visit us.
I have also recently marked a thing of my bucket list. I went to the arena and watched Clarkson, Hammond and May Live. It was absolutely fantastic. It was probably the last chance to see them live anytime soon.
They did hint quite strongly that there was some kind of deal that has been made and they will keep working. However, i do not know what that deal is going to be or where they are going to work and what they are going to do.
Below is some pictures from the show. I didn't take to many, i was too busy trying to follow the show.
