The house build is going forward, and our loan has started to get used up. So yey, we will be owing the bank money about 30 years on-wards. Lets celebrate. Other than that, this weekend we have been to have a look at whats been done at the block. They have scraped some sand off the edges of the pad, scraped our pavers off the driveway and exchanged it for gravel that will support heavy trucks and other building related vehicles.
We also had a chat with our new neighbors, since the people living in the house in front of ours moved. And these new people moved in. They are a very nice couple, and we had a long chat about the future process of the build. Which unfortunately is going to affect their fence line. We wanted to talk to them about that because as we had already expected the past owners had failed to mention that detail when they were buying the house. Luckily they were fine with that, i just need to contact the builder tomorrow to sort out some other things they had brought to our attention.
Work has been going good. with me starting work for a flower company in the city. Where i am learning a lot about names of flowers and how to store them correctly to get as much life out of them as possible. I have also been learning that flower jobs does not necessarily involve green fields with no ends and shade hats in the sun. But also more powerful and dangerous tools and things as hammers, learning how to control a trolley full of flower buckets and some quite dangerously looking cutting tools. I was pulling apart boxes on my second work day and managed to pull a big staple in to and cutting across one of my fingers and then the finger next to it and across that. So i might also have to add staples to my list of things to be careful with. I do not want any more blood spilled than the blood I have already spilled from those two staple cuts i got. So a complete blood ban for me, and i guess every one else agrees.
My volunteering is good and i am now a member of the dog training and enrichment group as i now also have the official t-shirt stating so. I might be a weird person saying i love getting up at 6 in the morning to go walk dogs in the rain. But, they do not have a choice as i do. They are stuck in those kennels until they've gone through the entire system of evaluation and vet checks and training and rehab and so on, finally getting adopted in to a forever home. Hopefully sooner than later. We all know that the success rate of animals being re homed will never get to 100% but we can work really hard to make that number close enough.
I would also like to mention that its been my moms birthday. I did what i could sending her a birthday card and a text message. And thinking about my mom too a lot these past weeks, i have decided to start planning for Christmas. Just think about it, its barely 4 months left. I'm going to start collecting recipes for a Swedish full on Christmas celebration that i am going to organize in our house in 2014, because i think we wont be in our house until possibly march next year.
Lately i have appreciated many people that wanted to talk to me on Skype, whats-app and steam. Even if i have been quite busy with organizing my time between tasks and work. Bonus points this week has to go to Marcus who actually recorded himself taking a tour of hes Minecraft castle he built and sent me the tour to watch while he was sleeping. It felt nice to be important enough to get through all that trouble just to show the awesomeness hes castle could reveal.
There is also going to be an international role playing event this weekend that I'm going to join in to, held and hosted by one of my Swedish friends. And i don't actually know how many there will be joining in.
Last but not least i have finally started playing *The last of us*, So far its better than expected, and it feels real at times. I have to say though, its not a game for people that panics when playing timed games in general. This one you literally have to fight for your life, and if you don't fight hard enough or think tactically quickly enough you will die, and have to do the entire section all over again. I forgot to mention your always short on ammo and supplies. As real as a simulation zombie apocalypse can get.
Tomorrow i have a job interview with a logistics company that called me today to ask if i was interested in a job they haven't even put the ad out for yet. Actually the same place that i wrote about in my last post, but that one turned out to not getting offered to me. But this is another one from the same people, a job i think id enjoy more. With full training, and hopefully also full time. I will write later about how it went.
Either way, i might still be working at my flower job, or i might have to give that up for this potential full time opportunity.
