Sweden trip Continued:
Friday the 12th we went to my dads parents in the city, they treated us to lunch by giving us all lunch money.
We had lunch at Ronjas in the city center Mike got in to a conversation with Steve Galloway and got coffee and cookies in the end from the man himself. When we were about to leave Ronjas Steve and mike had another chat, and i also got to talk to him about how he was a substitute teacher for my Swedish lesson in what i do remember as being 4th grade. Then we also went to the ticket place for the bus, since we were supposed to take the bus in to town on the Monday to meet up with dad at hes work. After that we went back to dads house. We went on the snowmobiles again and we took some photos.
After that we went upstream along the road next to the river to look for reindeer and see if we could get a picture of them. We didn't see any reindeer, we saw the reindeer keeper drive away in hes car and empty pens. We think that we missed the reindeer by a few hours. They most likely got moved up in the mountains again earlier that day. We did see 9 moose that i tried to take photos of with more or less successful timing.
That day we also missed the Fredagsmys (Friday cuddles) that my mom has every Friday. You sit together munching candy or crisps or any other treats, watching a movie or some TV together.
I felt really sad that we missed it.
The Saturday we went to the ski slope with mom her boyfriend and the younger siblings. We brought sandwiches, hot chocolate and some sausages to BBQ. It was a bit warm so we all got pretty wet, but it was fun going down the hill on the sleds.
That evening we also got to have a special Saturday cuddles, a repeat of the day before so i didn't feel so bad that we missed it.
Sunday we went to Nina again to meet lots of people at her place and also do a bit of board game role playing So there was a game of old school dungeon and dragons. I cant really remember how it ended but i think we did good. All i know is that most had a go at me for getting too good rolls with the dice.
Monday came around and my mom had gone to Ikea with work. We were supposed to get on the bus to go to dads job. But in the end he told us over the phone that he would pick us up at moms anyways because of the bus times being all strange. So he picked us up and we spent some time with my siblings again.
Tuesday 16th Because my head is having a blank.
Wednesday we finally got to use our buss ticket to go in to the city. When we got on the bus the ticket wouldn't work on the ticket machine so we had to show the driver the receipt to get to go. We got in to the city and went to where we were supposed to meet Nina. She called and said she was going to be late so we ended up taking a bit of a walk so i could show Mike the area properly.
We finally met up with Nina and we also met lots of other nice people who was going with us later on to Klossen. Its a youth center in the area i grew up in. There we spent the night playing an intergalactic strategy game. After we had spent time there for quite some time Nina drove us back to my moms house.
Thursday we went to dinner with mom and her boyfriend. We went to a place called Droskan and had a buffet with meats, fish, salads and desert. There was only one choice of desert, and i didn't like it. Other than that it was quite good.
The Friday we birthday celebrated my moms dad because we would fly out back home on hes actually birthday. There mike also had reindeer meat for the first time and got to look at a real life male Sapmi hat. And what deference it makes having the pom pom folded towards the back of the head or towards your face.
We tried to go to the museum but it was being re- built for the Europe Culture capital 2014 thingy so they had moved all the exhibits to another city but there was a small exhibition of Sapmi things.
We also went in to a church built year 1802 that's still untouched as it was then, no electricity and no running water.
After that we also went to get some sweets for our Friday cuddles we had. We watched a movie called Red tails, a movie based on a true story about WW 2 all black fighter pilots called the Tuskegee Airmen.
It was really good and i really recommend it for anyone interested in WW 2 history. Not only because of the different angle of the WW 2 history, but also because it gives you an insight in the not so commonly told story about the still remaining racial segregation at the time.
The last Saturday we spent all day plotting a revenge on an earlier jump scare joke by moms boyfriend. We hid spiders in various places to scare him. And took a photo to change hes computer background to distract him from the fact that there was a spider on hes keyboard, AND in the lamp shade just centimeters from hes forehead. Epic photo of madly wild and dangerous viking (Mike) below.
Lets just say he found the spiders, and paranoid started looking through the whole house for more. After he had looked in hes bed i snuck in to the room sneaking a plastic spider under hes blanket, so when he folded it back to go to bed, magically there would be a spider appearing as out of nowhere.
The day before we were going (Sunday) we spent most of the day packing our bags and mentally preparing for the trip. I think you need to mentally prepare when your going to fly for about 28 hours roughly.
The spider prank was still going on, and he found another spider taped to hes next in line unopened Snus box. Which he noticed after he picked it up, screamed loudly and threw on the floor.
Other than that we had a day in, waiting for my siblings to come to mom after spending the week at my dads.
Monday we flew homewards, but that little tidbit will be in the next post because this post is getting too long now.
I just need to say. Having two homes in a way is good because you always have a home you can go home to. But then again, you always have homesickness, even if you are home already. Also my problem is, i cant just decide to go visit people, because 28 hours is quite a long time for just a chat and a cup of tea.
(Hint: Chat and have a cup of tea with me in video chat possibly? .... Sometime? .... Yes or No?)
