We tried to go to the zoo on the Saturday but there was no parking available at all, so we decided to go in to the city center and go to the museum instead. We had planned to go to the museum for the Sunday but the zoo was not an option so we decided to swap them around.
The museum is showing an exhibit they have on loan from the British museum at the moment. It is a history of the world in 100 items.
It was really fascinating and i believe this is one of the last exhibitions they are going to display until they remove all the exhibits and close the museum completely to rebuild it for the opening of the new museum by the year 2020.
I am hoping the closing time is going to enable a more fantastic museum and I hope they are going to be able to build the new Museum in the 3 and a half year that has been allocated to building it.
On the Sunday we finally managed to get parking at the zoo to check out the "Zoorassic park" event they are running at the moment with animatronic dinosaurs in between the real animal exhibits.
They move, and "breathe" and roar.
We made sure to go earlier in the morning than we have tried on the Saturday so we could get parking. We also needed to go the back roads to the zoo because the Freeway was completely closed for a cycling event.
We will be going to the Zoo more often because we have joined the Zoo friends which gives us free entry and discounts in all major Zoos across Australia. at some point we will also try to visit other zoos, we just do not know when, or which ones.
