On the Tuesday on our Melbourne trip we decided to go to the Melbourne museum. By this time i had so many blisters on my feet i felt like i was walking on needles, we jumped on the tram and went to the edge of the big park area that is on the museum grounds. As we were walking up we came to a huge building that we thought was the museum.
Even though it looked like a museum it wasn't. It turned out that the actual museum was on the back of that old building. Being built in modern clean cut style. We decided to go to the IMAX theatre first and watch a show about deep space research. It was really interesting to see things that wasn't normally seen if you just look up to the sky, Also including actual pictures from NASA's current mars rover mission.
After that we went in to the museum and started with the only logical start. The dinosaurs. Working our way through that half of the museum and not quite managing to finish all of it before feeling the need to find our way to some food.
We found the cafe, After the food, while moving to have a look at the rest of the exhibits around the area where the dinosaurs were, i noticed that i had somehow lost my camera. While looking through my things again trying not to panic and feeling the panic just happen anyway. I started wandering around to all of the places we had been before while panicking a bit more every time i went to a place and the camera was't there. I walked around quickly from place to place getting more panicked until Mike took command and led me to the lost and found. After asking the guy in the window, We got to know that they had actually found the camera and they said that my description of it was excellent. I am very happy i got it back. Because without it, some of these blog posts in the few coming months would be quite picture-less.
After i got the camera back we spent another couple of hours looking at all the parts of those exhibits we didn't have time to do before we went to find food. Below are some selected pictures.

After walking all of that side of the museum and the jungle exhibit in the middle of the museum, my feet decided to give up, so i sat down on a bench to watch a video about some of the artworks that was hanging on the walls in the corridor. It was an hour until the museum was about to close so we decided to end the day with a visit to the museum shop.
After we had been at the museum we decided to go back to our room to get some rest before our night out.
That night we went to a Cabaret restaurant called Dracula's. I really recommend it as they are very talented when performing the show.
All of it being in true Dracula theme, so there is vampires, zombies and dark humor everywhere. The same can be said about the decor of the venue including but not limited to; skeletons moving under the floor, demons, cob webs and vampire treasures. They had even hung a manikin over the bar so it looked like there was tubes from the person to mix the drinks. I would also like to add in a bit of a warning because at times the stage performance gets quite naked as there is also some tasteful burlesque dancing involved. So if you have a bit of a problem with that I might just recommend you to maybe skip the whole experience. However i did not think it was to much, as they made sure they stuck to the theme and nothing (in my opinion) was tacky or strip club-esque. I guess it's just up to the person viewing it in the end. There was an older couple (maybe in their early to mid sixties) also sitting at our table and the lady did not look very impressed right the way through to the last 25 minutes of the three hour show when the zombies came out and did their dance. I mean who does not like a fat zombie lady body suit, wearing a fluoro pink bikini jiggling her belly folds in every direction? I thought it was funny but by trying to describe it I think that I might just be putting people off all together.
I don't have any photos available as cameras were not to be used while the show was on.

The next day, day five of our Melbourne stay and also the last full day we were spending time in the city before our flight home. We had booked our self in to go to the Melbourne cat cafe. A place you go to spend times with lots of cats.
There was rules like not patting a cat that's sleeping. Or asking a staff before you picked up a cat. But i felt sorry for the cats because people didn't really remember the rules when they saw the cats. They just wanted to grab a cat and cuddle with it.
Just imagine being a cat and getting pestered by new people every hour for the entire 8 hours the cat cafe is open to people. You needed to book a time to get in, and they only let in one group at the time for an hour at the time. In my opinion it was a too big group of people for the amount of cats, as well as being only one staff member keeping an eye on everything including taking peoples drink requests. I think it was ten people in one group at the time. Ten people who spread out over an area of one corridor and five standard size rooms. That's why i felt sorry about the cats, random people get let in to their life and home. People that had been told the rules and could not seem to follow them and on top of that, the staff that didn't have enough time to see that the rules were followed at all times. The idea and major outline of a cat cafe is great for people with no pets that live in apartments in a city or something similar, but i disagree with the cats not getting a break or the lack of supervision on the cuddle times or the way some of the people were handling the cats in general.
I ended up patting one cat on the forehead. It was laying on a tree and I only patted it after it had looked at me and meowed. After about 10 seconds of patting it curled up and looked like it wanted to sleep, so i left the room.
That didn't stop the guy (i would guess in hes early thirties) calling himself '-professor of cat' because he '-knew everything there is to know about cats' because '-hes mom and auntie bred cats' and he '-was going to start his own cat cafe in Sydney'. All this being said while picking up a cat that clearly didn't want to get picked up because it had crawled in to the back of a cardboard box that was in a corner of the room, and he held it in his arms belly side up like a baby and curdling It as it was desperately flailing its legs to get away.
People like that makes me angry.

After the cat Cafe we went to the sky tower. It is a lookout platform on the 88th floor in the highest high rise building in the southern hemisphere. The elevator up to the 88th floor took about 30 seconds to get there. It was enough for my ears to pop several times from the elevation difference. I have to say that it turned out to be one of the most amazing things we ended up doing during our trip to Melbourne.

After spending a lot of time looking at the views from the sky tower, we went down to ground level again. When we got down we found found the Ice Bar where you go in to a room made of ice pretty much like the Swedish ice hotel, only this is one room and it's built in a freezer room in a building used for other things like offices and restaurants. All the things used in the bar is made of ice. Including glasses, decorations and chairs. We wanted to go there but we had to go to St Paul's cathedral first, It was awesome and i bought a photo pass to be able to take some photos of the inside, but they told me the photos would only be for private use so i am not allowed to spread them on the internet. It's a shame because it was really beautiful inside it.
I do have a photo of the outside of the cathedral that i think is really amazing too.
We stayed inside the cathedral until it closed the doors at 4 pm. Then we were quite tired of walking so we did not end up going back to the Ice bar in the end. We went back to the hotel, and ended up finding a subway restaurant to have some food.

The last day of our Melbourne trip we packed our bags, payed our hotel and got our self off to the airport, then we spent the next 4 hours waiting for our flight, wandering around in the terminal.
I was ready to go home in the end, i had so many blisters from the single pair of shoes i had decided to bring with me, They had not yet been walked in and i got to feel the pain because of that. Next time we go traveling i am going to bring my running shoes even if my preferred shoes looks nicer. I mean what use is nice shoes if they make you feel like your skin is going to get rubbed off?
Mike did not want to leave Melbourne, and i am pretty sure he is going to want us to move to Melbourne at some point or another.
I guess we will just have to see how long its going to be before he seriously suggests it.

Today's song:
Thirty seconds to Mars - Up in the air
