I was going to write and post this yesterday but we ended up having a thunder storm so i decided against risking my computer. So here it comes today instead.
The fire i mentioned in the previous post is now under control. It was never any chance that it would make its way to us. Hopefully this rain have also helped stop any chance of the lightning lighting another fire.
Last Friday didn't become as we were planning it to be. Instead we got a phone call from the builder the first thing in the morning asking if we were ready to sign the building contracts. So we cancelled the Ikea visit and went to sign the paperwork. It also ended up taking longer than we estimated so we missed the chance of going to see Wreck it Ralph. But we got the signed documents. all three books of them. Three different copies.
On Saturday we went to Elmar's for my birthday lunch as planned and later went to Ikea to have a look at what we might like to buy from there when it gets time for us to live in our house. When we had walked around for a while in there we realized that we had no idea what we already had furniture wise, since people had offered different things to help us in the beginning. So i probably need to write us an inventory of what we do have and then one of what we need to get. Ikea made my day because they have introduced a self-pick Swedish candy area. So i picked myself a nice bag of birthday treats.
There is candies there that i haven't been able to find anywhere over here before.
After Ikea that day we were going to go try to see Wreck it Ralph, but we missed that one too because we took too long in Ikea.
Sunday was spent going to the movies early in the morning to see Wreck it Ralph. We should do that more since the ticket price was ridiculously low. After the movie we scrambled our self together a list to go get all the food we would need during the week.

On Monday we got contacted by the bank saying the settlement was ready. And at 2 pm i got a phone call from the settlement agent saying settlement was Tuesday at 11:30 am and that we needed to come up with a bank check with the money before 10 am Tuesday morning (the bank opened at 9:30 am so that only gave me a limited amount of time). So by the time i got the email with the amount due it was already 3 pm and the bank closes at 4 pm. I tried to transfer the money electronically but since the banks have a daily limit it didn't work. So simultaneously i called around trying to figure out if id have any chance of getting to the bank. In the end i ran through the house, put the dogs outside, gave them water. Locked up, and jumped over the gate and ran over tho the neighbors to ask for a lift. I made it to the bank 10 minutes before they were going to close and got the money on a cheque. Then i met up with Jeanette and we took it to the settlement agent.
So we own the land since Tuesday and cleanup can be done for preparation for the build. Our pre-start meeting is booked for the 5th so then we will have to meet with the builder and choose what things to add or take away or change about the house, at the same time we are going to choose all the details and colours.

Today I'm getting on the train to go in to the city and sign the second stage of our loan, and also sign the paperwork for the first home owners grant. I was going to do some driving today too but that has been moved to tomorrow morning.
Tomorrow i will go for my final driving test, i guess i might just be having the drivers licence the day before Mikes birthday. He has not said anything he wants to do for hes birthday so i don't know if I'm going to be able to drive him anywhere. we will see i guess.
