Yesterday started out good with Me, Mike, Hes brother and Dean going in to the city center to have a look at clothes for them for the wedding, We went to 2 stores and they tried on a good size of the stores contents. But from there it could have been so much better, because then it started go very very much down hill. about 2:30 we got the phone call. Mikes parents had been in a head on collision with another car. The other car had gone over to their side of the road and there was nothing they could do to avoid a crash. After the phone call we rushed to our car and headed home to the house since we were asked not to come to the scene. At the house we met up with Mikes uncle who had been to the scene helping. And we got to know that they had been taken to hospital. We waited at the house for about 3 minutes before we got the call what hospital they got sent to. And we jumped in to the car again to get there.
They are alright now but mikes mom had to stay at the emergency for 7 and a half hour. during that time we sat out in the emergency waiting room to hear whatever news we could about how she was doing. They got to leave the hospital at 11 late last night. With cuts and severe bruising. The car is a twisted metal wreck and completely written off.
This is the collected information we have heard about it:
The police suspects it might have been drugs in the woman who caused the crash. Driving at 80 km/h on a 70 km/h road. they also believe that she was speeding up at the time she crashed. After the crash, mikes parents car was turned 180 degrees from the direction they were heading. Mikes dad says all he can remember is seeing the car going straight for him and all the smoke and dust in the crash. Also the spinning of the car. He also remembers asking mikes mom if she was ok and if she could get out. As he tried to open his door. Mikes mom remembers seeing the car come for them, and nothing more until mikes dad asked her if she was ok and could get out. she could get out. And after a while Mikes dad could get out too. A couple stopped and helped them while ambulance, fire trucks and police were on their way. The fire truck was on the scene first but not long after that the ambulance was too. The police blocked the road and mikes parents got sent off in the ambulance.
There is no doubt that the car saved their lives, the airbags worked perfectly. and if the angle of the impact had been from any other direction than the front, we are sure that they wouldn't be with us now. To walk off from that, with just bruising and cuts. Is a miracle. And of course we were all very shocked and we all had our moments dealing with it through out the night. the main thing is that they are ok. And at home, right now in the living room still getting text messages and mails and phone calls and people stopping by to check in on them.
this morning we also saw that they made the news. so here is the short article if any one of you feel like you want to read it.
I'm really happy they are fine.

  1. Vad otäckt besked att få för er när ni hade det så trevligt, jag är så glad att de är ok. Hälsa så mycket, vi hoppas på snabb återhämtning utan efterverkningar på deras hälsa. /Mamma med sambo
