A couple of weeks back we visited some of our old friends and their three kids. They had their oldest boy shortly after our engagement and the twins some months after our wedding. I am not entirely sure exactly when their kids are born but they are all under 7 years old. They have recently built a house not far from us and I would like to extend a recognition award to our friends to be able to handle all three of their kids and their full-on energy supply as well as they do.
We also met their dog and one of their two new kittens. The other kitten had not wanted to come out from hiding.
We spent an evening catching up on some happenings since we last spoke. At some point we are going to invite them to a dinner at our house if their schedule allows. They have never been to our house because they used to live quite far out of town. But since they have moved back and they do not live to far away we think it would be a good idea to invite them over sometime to have dinner with us.

I have been getting in to cooking a bit more lately and have also recently bought a new cookbook that i can't wait to use. Its called ''Vegie Faves'' and is, as it sounds, a completely vegetarian cookbook.
I'm not sure i have blogged about our food setup before. We usually try to vary our meals as much as we can. We write a menu every week with set meals containing red meat, chicken or fish and one or two completely vegetarian meals a week. On the weekends we have special meals that might include a trial new meal or a lazy take-away.
The vegetarian meals we have been doing is starting to get over-used so we needed some new ones to try. We bought this cookbook to try out some new meals for our Vegie days because a lot of the meals in the book sounds really good.

We have just come out on the tail end from the Easter long weekend. During the long weekend weekend we jumped in to the car on the first holiday day Friday morning and drove down to Mandurah to stay there one night. We stayed at the same hotel that we stayed in for our wedding night and it was amazing to be back and spend some time again. I have had time to forget how beautiful it is there since last time we stayed there.
There is a certain charm to Mandurah that i can not seem to get over and the photos below can not really do it any justice.

We did a lot of walking while we were there and had some really good meals. But most of all it was really great to get to have some ''holiday''. We both work quite hard, and its been quite a lot going on since October.

When we got back home we took our dog out for a walk and noticed he had a bit of a limp on one of his back legs. We do not know if hes jumped and landed funny or if it happened on the walk or if hes been sore but only just started limping when we took him out.
The vet prescribed him a course of anti-inflammatory tablets that seems to be working. However if he starts to get a limp again we need to go back to the vet and have an X-ray done on hes knees. Because of the short legs he might be prone to get knee problems and he is not a young dog anymore either because hes turned 7 years old and might be starting to develop some kind of arthritis. Hopefully hes all good now and it was just some kind of sprain that just needed resting. Trying to rest a dog of his energy level is not easy and i am happy that he is getting better.
