The move in to the house went well after the main living area floor was set, and we have been living here now for just about 7 weeks.We moved in the day after the memorial day, and we have been working hard on making the house feel like a home.
The first thing we noticed when spending time in the house was that we don't have any coverage on our mobiles.
There has been some things that have had to get fixed. We had problems with toilets and sinks not draining properly, and big bubbly sounds moving through the house when water was moving down one sink, we noticed it would bubble in another room. So we had to get the plumber to come to see if he could fix it. It turned out that a drainage pipe under our driveway was shattered and a lot of sand had come in to the pipes. So he partly pulled up the pavers on our driveway to be able to change the pipe and flush out the sand.
So all is clear now. There is no more bubbling going on at all.
The fridge recess has also had to be adjusted since they did it lower than standard. And also a lot lower than the height of our fridge. But that is also sorted now, we have painted two rooms and moved everything in to them while painting the other half of the house. Hopefully we will be getting on to that this weekend. Below is a few selected photos of whats been going on.
We had a family photo shoot a while back where we bought two prints to frame somewhere in the house, unfortunately the photo place weeded out most of me and Mikes couple photos. So we had to choose one each that we liked of our portraits. It was quite disappointing since every one else had a lot of selection for theirs. That place didn't let us keep any of the digital photos either so we will not go back there, its just not worth the money.
We are planning to go have a photo shoot somewhere else when we feel we can, so we can get some nice photos of us.
My studies are going well and in a few weeks it will be the end of the first semester. So far i have passed all the assignments and tests i have had. There is currently 11 units in the course (i have done two of the units so far and have now started my third one). All the units are expected to take about three years in total to finish one by one in recommended pace. But when my next semester starts they have added on a few more units to the course so there will be 18 units in the end. Adding on i don't know how much more time at the end of it, they are still working that out and writing new material and so on. But the positive thing about that fuse is that the course will be at a Diploma level standard and not only a preparation for the interview with the Customs broker board to get a licence. So what ever the outcome it will be a nationally and internationally accredited and recognized achievement, because of that little piece of paper i can hang on the wall.
It is also very rainy today, and it has been a pain trying to drive home from work, keeping to about 20 km/h and having the windscreen wipers on max was still not enough to see further ahead than the tail lights on the car crawling in front, and the lines on the road surface about 5 meters in front of the my hood. Luckily we have until Tuesday with the same weather. I say luckily because we do need the water. So far so good. The house is watertight, that's the main thing. And whenever i feel like I'm going to look out of the window and there will be fishes swimming past i will look at the picture from our day in kings park.
Because that was a beautiful day.
